Postdoctoral position in electrochemistry in the Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory in Zürich

The Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich is inviting applications for postdoctoral position in electrochemical energy storage.

Our group studies the fundamental processes in solutions and materials as well as at the electrode-electrolyte interfaces, using a combination of the different in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques coupled with detailed electrochemical studies. We then apply this fundamental knowledge to design new battery materials, electrocatalysts and electrolytes that can deliver improved performance (i.e. charging times, energy, capacity, cycling stability), cost, efficiency and safety.

The successful candidates should have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Science or related disciplines from an internationally recognized university. We are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in electrochemical methods, batteries, and supercapacitors, who are self-driven and highly motivated, creative and excited to work in interdisciplinary teams. Good knowledge of COMSOL and advanced in-situ characterization is a plus.
