Job description
The student will investigate fundamental processes of the interaction between droplets containing individual cells or cell proxies with the new ion source configuration. To achieve highest possible sensitivity and robust operation for the determination of the elemental composition of the cells, different approaches for the introduction of individual cells (including single droplet generators and flow cytometry) will be studied in detail.
Your profile
The candidate holds a MSc or comparable degree in analytical chemistry or a related field and has strong interest in ICPMS-based element and isotope analytical methods. The project may also include modification and optimization of hardware designs in collaboration with the institute’s excellent workshops.
We expect a motivated candidate, interested in working in an established, team-oriented, international research group with a strong interdisciplinary orientation.
She or he is expected to be fluent in one of the Swiss official languages or English at first language level.
