The Chair of Work and Organizational Psychology (Prof. Gudela Grote) at ETH Zurich is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position to contribute to the ongoing research program on how individuals, teams and organizations manage uncertainty.
The research will be undertaken within a recently developed framework for uncertainty regulation, which stresses both uncertainty reduction and uncertainty creation for effective performance. Current research contexts are high-risk work systems, entrepreneurial and innovation teams, and individual performance management and career development. The position is meant to strengthen these existing lines of research, but also to explore new research settings and methodological approaches, for instance by integrating paradigms from judgment and decision making research. The position is available from February 1, 2021, and is initially funded for two years, with the possibility of extension.
You should have a PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or Behavioral Economics. Prior experience in research on topics related to the current position and a strong publication record are expected. An excellent command of both German and English is required. Candidates should be highly committed and self-driven individuals with a creative and proactive mindset, striving to excel in a top-level, dynamic environment. They need to be able to work well in a team and have strong communication skills in speaking and writing.
