Your responsibilities
The primary goal of the PhD project will be to use machine learning to facilitate the directed evolution of a target enzyme. Within this framework, the PhD student will screen metalloenzyme variants for activity and stability, create DNA libraries, conduct large-scale data analysis, and develop tools for machine learning. Although no candidate will be expected to have previous experience in all of these fields, an enthusiasm to learn these techniques is essential.
Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student with an MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or bioinformatics. The candidate should be enthusiastic about learning new techniques and working in an interdisciplinary laboratory. Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) are essential. Previous experience with Python and machine learning will be an advantage.
