The high-potential candidate will pursue his doctorate in conjunction with another university, to be decided upon together. A major responsibility is to advance the research agenda at the intersection of theoretical research and financial markets. The candidate will have the opportunity to establish partnerships with other universities, acquire funding for collaborative research, and to develop new quantitative solutions. The position will also involve contributing to open source software and presenting results at scientific and industrial conferences.

The Finance, Risk Management and Econometrics team is involved in the project that aims to better understand the risks of emerging technologies (Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain) relevant for financial innovation and to improve the communication between financial market regulators and fintech companies developing these emerging technologies. In addition, team members are heading the network on Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Fintech with 32 countries and 150 researchers involved globally, as well as a number of research projects funded by Innosuisse and the Swiss National Science foundation. Due to successful acquisition of research funding over the last few years, our team has grown substantially.
