Student Internship in Oncology-Cancer Immunotherapy (12 Months) in Basel

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated intern with a strong interest in Oncology-Cancer Immunotherapy to join our multinational research team located at Roche, Basel. Our team consists of scientists, PhD student and research associates working closely together in investigating ways to modulate and augment the anti-tumor immune response, ultimately leading to benefit of cancer patients.

As an intern in our team your main tasks will include:
 

• Develop methods for key in vitro and ex vivo assays to test immunomodulatory molecules and compounds

• Expansion and maintenance of gene modified T cell cultures

• Employ strategies for the genetic modification of human T cells

•  Investigating the mechanism of action of target inhibition on anti-tumor immunity

• Contribute to experimental design and project direction

• Compile and present research data to functional teams

• Contribute to support documentation when necessary

• Provide critical lab support while working in a collaborative team environment

Moreover you are/have:

• Enrolled in a Master's program at the university, in the last year of your studies

• A good understanding of Cellular Biology and Immunology

• Some experience in the laboratory especially with in vitro cell culture techniques and with flow cytometry

• A strong team player and able to work independently

• Good command of English

The preferred start date of the internship is January 2022, or upon availability.
