Student Assistant as Software Engineer for Sustainability Tools in Chemical Process Design in Zürich
Studierende finden an der ETH Zürich ein Umfeld, das eigenständiges Denken fördert, Forschende ein Klima, das zu Spitzenleistungen inspiriert.
Jobbeschreibung
10%-20%, Zurich, fixed-term
The Energy & Process Systems Engineering (EPSE) laboratory within the Institute of Energy and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich focuses on sustainable energy systems and chemical production processes. Our research topics span multiple dimensions from molecules and processes to energy and process systems, from sustainability to profits. We are looking for a student assistant working on the development of software tools for the sustainable and economic design of chemical processes.
The use of commercial process simulators like AspenPlus allows for the fast development of chemical processes. However, the connection to newly developed research tools is not yet established. The connection between Life Cycle Assessment and economic performance indicators is a core part of the project.
You will work within a highly interdisciplinary project, at the intersection of chemical process development, Life Cycle Assessment and economic analysis. In this project, you will be contributing to the connection of well-established tools with newly developed sustainability tools. You will explore multiple fields and methods for a sustainable process design.
- You are an enrolled student at ETHZ or UZH (preferably a late Bachelor's or early Master's student).
- You have a background and interest in computer science, natural science and/or engineering.
- You have experience in programming languages like C#, Python or MATLAB.
- You are interested in Life Cycle Assessment and sustainability.
- You are responsible and able to work independently on your tasks.
You can look forward to an exciting working environment, cultural diversity and attractive offers and benefits.
