The Tissue Engineering + Biofabrication Lab, ETH Zürich, Switzerland is recruiting a postdoc with a strong curiosity about the joint disease (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis) and the potential roles of endotoxemia and diet in its pathogenesis.

Project background

You will join a large European network interested in understanding the mechanisms of arthritic disease progression and developing interventional therapies. We offer a stimulating and multidisciplinary environment with excellent infrastructure. The ETH lab has several ongoing related projects and collaborations including studies on the role of endotoxin in osteoarthritis, biomaterials/drug delivery for OA treatment, well as image-based analysis of osteoarthritis progression.

Job description

The candidate is expected to design and execute in vitro and in vivo models of arthritis and contribute to the development of interventional therapies.

Your profile

You have a PhD in immunology, microbiology, developmental biology or related fields. Previous experience with rodent models of arthritis is beneficial, but not required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required. The successful candidate is encouraged to build their independent research program and apply for independent funding.
