The International Political Economy and Environmental Politics led by Professor Thomas Bernauer is offering a fully funded position for a Doctoral Student in Environmental Politics.

Job description

The International Political Economy and Environmental Politics is based both at the Center for Comparative and International Studies () and the Institute of Science, Technology and Policy (). Its research and teaching focuses primarily on the role of governments, civil society, industry, citizens, and consumers in providing solutions to environmental problems. The new doctoral student will contribute to the , a long-term survey project that measures and explains environmental attitudes and behavior within Switzerland.

Your profile

You should hold a research-based Master degree in Political Science, Political Economy, Economics, Psychology, or Sociology, and be familiar with Political Science / Political Economy theories. You have strong skills in quantitative empirical methods, and preferably have experience with survey design and experimental methodologies. An excellent command both of German and English is essential. The preferred starting date is January or February 2024. The funding is for up to four years.
