The laboratory of Food Systems Biotechnology is seeking a junior bioinformatician/programmer for microbiome research.
The position is located at the Institute of Food, Nutrition, and Health at ETH Zurich within the (Prof. Dr. Nicholas Bokulich). The Bokulich laboratory develops bioinformatics methods and software for microbiome research, including , and applies these tools to study microbiomes at the interfaces of foods and human health.
You will develop and use bioinformatics methods for analysis of microbiome and other omics datasets to study microbial communities involved in foods and human health. You will be comfortable coordinating with a collaborative team of interdisciplinary scientists and engineers to develop and apply bioinformatics tools in a diverse range of research topics. This will include development and use of QIIME 2 and antimicrobial resistance gene profiling tools for analysis of biological datasets, as well as support programming and testing code for research applications for the Food Systems Biotechnology group.
