The Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich is looking for an Recruitment & Admissions Manager (80% - 100%) for a 1-year contract (with the possibility of extension) to join the MAS MTEC team.
The Master of Advanced Studies ETH in Management, Technology, and Economics (MAS MTEC) is one of the most established management education programmes for professionals in Switzerland. Since 1980, more than 2,000 graduates have leveraged the strengths of ETH Zurich and D-MTEC to advance into leadership and management roles.
Project background
The MAS MTEC programme at ETH Zurich is currently undergoing a strategic transition. As part of this phase, we are seeking an Recruitment & Admissions Manager to strengthen and further develop the recruitment and admissions function.
The role focuses on improving the admissions process, organising and executing recruitment activities, and helping to strengthen the programme’s visibility in the market, while ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for candidates from first contact through to enrolment.
Although the position is initially offered as a one-year contract, there is a strong possibility of extension depending on programme needs and performance.
Job description
As the Admissions & Recruitment Manager, you will play a key role in managing the admissions process, organising recruitment activities, and strengthening the visibility of the MAS MTEC programme. You will oversee the candidate journey and act as the main point of contact for prospective students, ensuring a structured, smooth, and engaging experience from first contact through to enrolment.
- Manage the admissions process, including advising candidates, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and coordinating assessments to ensure a high-quality candidate pool.
- Act as the main point of contact for prospective candidates, engaging through calls, emails, and follow-ups to guide them through the decision-making process.
- Own and manage the CRM system and admissions pipeline, ensuring accurate tracking of leads, applications, and conversion.
- Design and execute targeted email campaigns for candidates within the CRM to improve engagement and conversion.
- Organise and execute recruitment activities, including information sessions, webinars, campus events, and participation in external fairs.
- Manage relationships with external agencies for lead generation, including briefing, performance monitoring, and feedback on lead quality.
- Identify and implement new approaches to generate leads and attract high-quality candidates.
- Monitor and analyse admissions data, including conversion rates and pipeline performance, and prepare regular reports.
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to support with social media campaigns, video shoots and other marketing activities.
- Contribute insights from candidate interactions to improve communication, content, and overall recruitment effectiveness.
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (e.g. In Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field).
- 2–4 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or other customer-facing roles (experience in higher education is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse candidates.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to track performance, interpret data, and improve processes.
- Experience working with CRM systems and managing pipelines is an advantage.
- Proactive and hands-on working style with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is an asset.
