Shipping and Trading Network (STN) - a headhunting firm specialized in commodities - is working on behalf of a client, a fast-growing entrepreneurial trading company active across agriculture and energy.

We are looking for a Trade Operations & Documentary Credit Specialist to support and optimize end-to-end trade execution and operations.
1. The Role in a Snapshot

• Hands-on Trade Operations & Documentary Credit Specialist role in a fast-growing commodity trading firm (Geneva).
• Manage end-to-end operational execution of physical trades across Agri and Energy books.
• Focus products: coffee, fertilizer, biofuels, vegetable oils, refined oil products.
• Prepare, review, and manage trade finance documentation: LCs, SBLCs, contracts, shipping docs.
• Coordinate with logistics providers, warehouses, inspectors, clients, and suppliers for smooth execution.
• Liaise with banks and trade finance providers for transaction flows, credit lines, and risk mitigation.
• Monitor cargo movement and documentation to ensure compliance with contracts and timelines.
• Support counterparty onboarding, KYC, and compliance documentation.
• Identify and improve internal workflows and operational systems.
• Provide commercial and client insights to support front-office decision-making.

2. The Ideal Profile

• Experience: 2-5 years in commodity trading operations, with exposure to strategy and commercial development.
• Exposure to Agri and/or Energy products.
• Experience in startups or fast-growing trading environments is highly valued.
• Technical skills: Handling LCs, SBLCs, trade finance documentation, shipping terms, demurrage, warehousing, export/import regulations.
• System skills: Strong Excel; knowledge of Aspect CTRM is a plus.
• Personal traits: Proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple counterparties and timelines.
• Languages: Fluent in English; French, Spanish, or other languages advantageous.
• Cultural fit: Thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial, high-performance environment; motivated to grow within a commercially driven trading firm.

Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Geneva (CH/EU citizens only), with occasional travel as needed.
