The Global Treasury Lead Center is a global center of expertise of Foreign Exchange (FX) and Commodity (COM) Risk Management within ABB. Its activities and operations cover strategy and policies down to day-to-day operations.
• Directly support the team lead in planning, structuring and task allocations, in team and business development, quality assurance and special projects.
• Oversee internal front office operations for ABB group companies with respect to their financial risk management (FX & COM hedging) and funding / liquidity management (short term loans and deposits)
• Contribute to Inter-company netting, payment-on-behalf solutions, specific management of flows (e.g. dividends, M&A etc.) treasury system upgrades and other solution development projects
• Oversee robust service delivery to ABB Switzerland concerning their FX exposure management (exposure identification to hedging, subsequent hedge management) for the main Swiss operating units
• Governance to subject matter expertise and advisory. Work with the global ABB Treasury footprint (regional, country treasury organizations, other Treasury departments) and serving the Global Business Units and Divisions as well as the Corporate Finance function
• Contribute to forecasting and explaining of the impact of foreign exchange and commodities on operational/business and Group-level financials
• Contribute to FX/COM-specific aspects of M&A activities (divestments, acquisitions) and similar projects (portfolio pruning, entity migrations etc.)
• Provide expert advice on core treasury Group policies and instructions (and manage any exception reviews and approvals)
• Subject matter expert (preparation, review) on financial and management accounting, reporting and disclosures for derivatives and hedging, market risk/sensitivity disclosures (working in close collaboration with Group Corporate Controlling)
• Minimum 5 years treasury experience in corporate treasury (FX & Cash): preferably hands-on experience with FX hedging approaches and solutions and related concepts (market rates, valuations, instruments and markets)
• University diploma in financial management, business administration or related field
• Good knowledge of treasury, accounting & reporting, controlling
• People management and Leadership skills are preferred, experience in stakeholder management is required
• Fluency in English (German knowledge – nice to have)
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and writing / presentation)
• Strong analytical and risk management skills
• Ability to translate complex requirements and non-routine demands into actionable, deliverable and clear team targets and to support related team dynamics and performance
• Knowledge/experience of how market risks and hedging impact business results (pricing, costing, quoting, contracting and clauses, impact on earnings and cash-flow)
• Experience in derivative accounting & reporting (US GAAP or IFRS) and disclosures
