Postdoctoral scholar - Liver Regeneration Research NIBR Basel

The research group is seeking a highly motivated, independent Ph.D. level scientist to lead projects focused on elucidating fundamental insights into mechanisms and multicellular dynamics of liver regeneration. The project will combine mouse genetics, AAV-based gene editing, CRISPR and secretomics screening in primary cells and patient sample profiling within an established network of internal and academic collaborators. Requirements include a strong publication record, in vivo experience and a mastery of common imaging and cell culture techniques. Start date should be early to Mid 2019.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant scientific community and collaborate with other postdoctoral fellows mentored by a range of scientists across disciplines and platforms, including chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, functional genomics, neurophysiology and translational medicine. Postdoctoral scholars at NIBR have a unique opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research and are expected to publish their results in leading journals. The postdoctoral term is up to 4 years.

- PhD in Biology, Pharmacology or a related discipline (PhD students that finish their PhD in Q1/2019 are eligible to apply) - Qualification to perform in vivo experiments (LTK1, FELASA B or equivalent) - Strong experience in histology, confocal imaging and primary cell isolation/culture - Experience with AAV, molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas9 are of advantage - Basic knowledge of data analysis methods/bioinformatics are a plus - Strong publication record in the field of liver research, regenerative medicine, developmental biology or multicellular dynamics - Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills - Candidates must be able to work independently as well as with interdisciplinary teams
