SMART is one of the top functional initiatives for CD&A in 2019. The SAP LEANing team has identified safety data exploration for its potential to have broad applicability across the portfolio. Every clinical team and every clinical study, regardless of phase, is concerned with the unexpected presence of safety signals, thus modern dynamic and interactive tools are requires to facilitate the efficient and collaborative exploration of safety data.
The intern will be expected to add value to the app creation team by in the following manner:
- Work with team members to build and extend the functionality of the safety module library in such a way that the App components may cross communicate and are also well documented to be added to the avamodules R package. - Build and extend app vignettes with helpful examples that test the key functionality as well as provide useful explanations for others to use easily learn how to benefit from their usage. - Research and introduce cutting edge visualizations, such as animated bubble plots for visualizing trend, force-directed network plot for multivariate analysis or clustering of AEs, advanced eDish plot using d3.js and htmlwidgets etc. - Investigate the end-to-end workflow of using ASE in a real project setting, including upfront planning, exploration and reporting. Research technological aspects of Shiny app validation such as use of ShinyTest, rtemplate R package validation approach for Shiny etc.
We are looking for PhD or Masters student in computer science, data sciences, software engineering, bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, systems engineering, IT infrastructure, biostatistics, other. - Fluent English oral and written - At least 1 year of experience with application of innovative software, data science, or influencing IT on infrastructure within a drug development setting - Ideally some experience in facilitating and optimizing the (early/full) clinical development strategy by using expertise in software engineering, data science, or business IT solutions - Solid interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) bridging scientific and business needs
