Ph.D. position on Nano-architected Coatings for Medical Implants in St. Gallen

Jobbeschreibung

Candidates holding a master's degree in experimental physics, chemical, mechanical, electrical or biomedical engineering, biochemistry or a related field with a high motivation to work in an interdisciplinary project are invited to apply. Excellent communication skills and good verbal and written knowledge in English are a prerequisite.

We offer for this project a highly stimulating research environment in the Empa laboratories in St. Gallen and ETH Zurich in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) in Zurich with outstanding infrastructure to fabricate and characterize properties of nanostructured coatings and to investigate their interactions with biological systems. The project will be carried out in collaboration with partners at the local hospital and industry. The PhD degree will be awarded by ETH Zurich.
