Jobbeschreibung
The candidate will support research projects in the area of recovery of electrode materials (both cathode and anode) from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries (LIB) covering a variety of LIB chemistries e.g., LFP or NMC, and the environmental assessment of these processes. The projects are in close collaboration with industry partners. For the quantification and characterization of the materials, analytical techniques such as inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy will be applied. As part of the research activities, the candidate will participate in conferences, and disseminate the results in different formats e.g. oral or poster presentations, high impact peer-reviewed journals or technical reports for the funding agency.
The candidate should have a strong background in the field of chemistry, material science, environmental engineering or other related fields. Experience or desire to work in the recycling research field, setting up chemical experiments, using some of the above-mentioned analytical methods, and working with LCA software such as SimaPro are essential. The candidate should be fluent in English and German (working language is English). Furthermore, the candidate should enjoy both working in a team in a respectful environment as well as conducting independent research.
