The Neuroscience Disease and Translational Area oversees the discovery, research and development of novel treatments for diseases such as schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease. The RiSE program (Roche Internships for Scientific Exchange) offers the most talented postgraduate students the opportunity to enhance their competencies and to gain valuable work experience with us.
The Neurosymptomatic Domains Section in the Neuroscience Discovery Group, Basel, Switzerland is using cutting edge genetic, molecular, neurophysiological, and imaging (2-photon, miniaturized microscope) methodologies to understand disease and support drug development efforts in the Neuroscience field. One area of particular interest is studying the cell-types and projections important for cognition and motivated behaviors. We are looking for a motivated PhD or MD/PhD student interested in employing cutting-edge imaging methods to understand how pharmacological interventions can modulate neuronal ensemble dynamics in deep brain structures.
